Geographic Description

The geographic focus of this program is the Monterey Bay region of California's Central Coast. Adaptation Actions focus specifically on the low-lying, disadvantaged coastal communities threatened by sea level rise (SLR), storm surge, and river flooding along the region's four major rivers - the San Lorenzo, the Pajaro, the Salinas, and the Carmel - and by wildfire in the watersheds affecting these communities. The project is located in Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties, in CA Congressional Districts 18 an 19.
