Building Climate Resilience Across Monterey Bay
The Monterey Bay Climate Adaptation Action Network (MBCAAN) is a network of partners across the Monterey Bay region taking collective action to prepare communities, ecosystems, and economies for the impacts of climate change.

Our Initiative
We develop adaptation actions focused on Monterey Bay area’s low-lying, coastal communities threatened by sea level rise, storm surge, wildfires, and flooding.
What We Do
We provide a vital resource hub for organizations and individuals engaged in climate adaptation
efforts. Through informative updates, resources, and collaborative opportunities, we empower stakeholders to take meaningful actions in the face of climate change, promoting sustainability
and resilience across the region.
Our Adaptation Strategies
We cultivate regional collaboration between NGO's, institutions, Tribes, and governments for climate resilience.
We reduce extreme risk to coastal communities and ecosystems from large, high-intensity wildfires.
We develop detailed strategies to reduce the effects of flooding and strengthen community
resilience.
We come together to create a multilevel, integrated workforce development program with multiple entry points and outcomes, from training certificates to advanced degrees, all focused on climate adaptation and resilience skills.
